Cougar Corner

Sultan Elementary Families

I cannot help but feel complete…not because I ate too much over the holidays, but because we will finally be welcoming back our 4th and 5th grade students! We will now have all SES students attending school on our AM/PM model (8:30-11 or 1-3:30). With this addition comes some minor changes and reminders to be aware of…

· An additional EXIT ONLY from campus will be open by the district office on 4th street. You are welcome to meet/pickup students on the west side of campus (parents are still not allowed on campus though). Siblings are welcome to meet at this gate and leave/walk together, however, KINDERGARTEN will NOT be permitted to leave here, they will still have to walk with their teacher to the front pickup area.

· If your student needs a meal, they will have to exit through the main exit at the music room/pull-through area or through the gym to the buses.

· Remember that the quarterly attestation MUST be completed each quarter. For 4th and 5th graders, this must happen before January 11th. The next attestation for ALL students will be done on February 2nd (the start of the 3rd quarter).

· Please remember to follow all safety protocols including staying home when not feeling well, wearing a mask, keeping your 6’ distance and practicing good hand hygiene.

· We are asking/encouraging ALL students to please follow the travel advisory that is in place limiting out of state travel and getting a negative COVID test prior to return to campus if not self-quarantining.

· Transportation times may change as we bring more students back at SES and SMS, please call transportation with any questions regarding bus routes (360-793-9820).

Yours in Learning,

Mr. Van Orden, Principal
