Cougar Corner March 2021

Sultan Elementary Families

March is upon us already! This year has been an adventure and is starting to fly by. With spring comes many things to be mindful of. Parent teacher conferences will be scheduled this month; this is an important time for you to touch base with your student’s teacher. In addition to conferences, many classrooms will begin preparing for state and spring assessments. There is so much happening at school this month and I want to thank you for being mindful of your child’s attendance at school…regular attendance has been hard due to Covid protocols, but it is more important than ever to ensure our kids are at school when possible.

I would like to end this month’s message with a quote from Dr. Seuss in celebration of Read Across America Day (March 2nd). Dr. Seuss had a way of writing deep messages with such simple words…and while we can focus on the struggles and things that have gone wrong, there are always things to be grateful for!

“Suppose that you lived in that forest of France, where the average young person just hasn’t a chance to escape from the perilous pants-eating plants! But your pants are safe! You’re a fortunate guy. And you ought to be shouting, how lucky am I!”

Take care and stay safe,

Mr. Van Orden, Principal

 Parent Drop-off/Parking Lot Reminder
We know that our pick-up/drop-off line is busy and can get very backed up.  You can help to speed up the process by making sure that you pull all the way forward before letting your students in or out of the car.  We have several adults out front to ensure the safety of students and it works better if they are not distracted by motioning to cars to move up.  Thank you for helping to keep our students safe!
