Counselor's Corner
Counselor's Corner
Dear Sultan Elementary Community,
My name is Ms. Proctor, and I am thrilled to be the school counselor! I have a strong passion for incorporating social and emotional learning into the school experience as a way to enhance well-being and support academic development. As we know, there are a multitude of challenges that can impact developing minds, and I hope to help students process those challenges. When children feel safe, confident, and connected they are more likely to achieve their goals. My comprehensive school counseling program includes teaching social/emotional lessons in each classroom, running small counseling groups, and providing individual support.
I am especially passionate about doing this work at the elementary level because it allows the opportunity to equip students at a young age with the tools they need to be successful in life.
A bit more about me is that I grew up in Southeast Portland before moving to Bellingham, WA to attend Western Washington University where I studied psychology. From there I moved back to Oregon to receive my Master of Counseling from Oregon State University-Cascades in Bend. I’m so happy to be back in Washington and part of the SES community. In my free time, I love to crochet, hike, read, and bake.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or just to say hi!
